Join the Chorus!
The Schoodic Summer Chorus is a multi-generational a capella community chorus
devoted to nurturing musicianship and community, in residence at Hammond
Hall in Winter Harbor, Maine. Its members share a passion for singing beautiful
and unusual music. Directed by singer and composer Anna
Dembska, the chorus is
open to anyone who loves to sing.
In 2009, Schoodic Summer Chorus will perform An A Cappella Day in the Life, singing its way through a day and night with ancient and new songs by composers ranging from John Dowland to Ladysmith Black Mambazo and a world premiere of a collaboration between beloved Maine composer Anne Dodson and legendary Pentangle guitarist/songwrite John Renbourn.
This year we'll be performing two extra concerts in addition to our usual Hammond Hall performance. See below for details.

Cost
The Schoodic Summer Chorus is primarily supported by membership dues, but
we want everyone who wants to sing to be able to join us. Membership fee
is $120 (this level covers the cost of running the chorus). If you can't
afford the regular dues, we
have full and partial scholarships for those who need them.
If you can afford it, please consider paying more than $120 to help
subsidize those who need to pay less.
Commitment
We ask that you miss no more than two rehearsals, and make sure
you come to the final three rehearsals (July 14, 21 and 25). If you really
want to sing with us, but have scheduling problems, please contact Anna
Dembska.
